Von der Leyen Commission 2024-2029

The Von der Leyen II Commission took office on 1 December 2024 for the next 5 years. Glenn Micallef is the Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport. His task is to empower young people, giving them more freedom, say and responsibility within our societies, building on what brings us together in diversity, from our cultural heritage to sport at all levels.

2025: A Year of Opportunity for Young Europeans

The European Union is empowering young people through its 2025 calls for proposals. With a €166 million budget, the European Solidarity Corps offers young people the chance to volunteer across the EU and beyond. Additionally, the Erasmus+ programme, with a budget of €5 billion, will support learning exchanges and cooperation partnerships in education, training, youth, and sport.

EU Voto project came to Brussels!
|
|
On 25 November, a group of enthusiastic young people visited the Eurodesk office in Brussels as part of their study visit and to present their EU Voto project, organised by Acción Social por la Juventud (ASJ) in collaboration with Ingalicia, a Eurodesk multiplier. They presented their project "Movidas Erasmus" podcast series which introduces young people to educational and mobility opportunities across Europe through engaging storytelling about programmes like Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps. The group also showcased the "Tarot Activity," an interactive tool developed during the Time to Move campaign that explores challenges and opportunities related to studying, volunteering, or working abroad.
