Azores young people and the road to the 2024 European Elections!
|
|
|
|
The Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, through the Regional Directorate for Youth - Government of the Azores - has joined the Eurodesk Brussels Link (EBL) campaign to encourage young people in the Azores to exercise their right to vote in the European Parliament elections to be held next June. On the island of São Miguel (Azores, Portugal), the Regional Directorate organised a 90-minute "Euroclass: European Elections 2024" to highlight the importance of young democratic participation and to promote civic and political involvement in regional, national and European democratic life. The activity was based on a collectively constructed performance, guided by the Theatre of the Oppressed methodology.
It was a moment of experience - lived and watched - of the various behaviours of voters: from indecision, through reflection, criticism, and debate, to exercising the right to vote.
