Each year, the Eurodesk Awards collect and highlight Eurodesk multipliers’ most relevant, innovative and empowering projects from the grassroots level. For the 2025 edition of the Eurodesk Awards, 67 projects from 20 countries competed for 4 prizes.

A successful Eurodesk Multipliers Seminar

 

49 Eurodesk multipliers from 20 countries met in Brussels (May 20-23, 2025). They networked, learned about the 2025 Time to Move campaign, tested new Eurodesk games, explored AI for inclusive digital communication, and received policy updates from the European Commission and the EU-Council of Europe Youth Partnership.

DiscoverEU: application results are out

 

Nearly 36,000 18-year-olds secured a free DiscoverEU travel pass to journey across Europe from July 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026! This initiative remains a cornerstone of the Erasmus+ programme, actively fostering mobility and active citizenship among young Europeans.

European citizens' recommendations for EU budget

 

On 16-18 May, the third and final session of the European Citizens' Panel on the new EU long-term budget took place in Brussels. For the first time, a group of 150 randomly selected citizens from all 27 EU Member States brought forward their ideas for a sustainable and flexible long-term EU budget.

A renewed agenda for European Union and United Kingdom

 

Ahead of the UK-EU summit on 19 May 2025, the European Commission and the United Kingdom reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation, especially for young people. Among other things, they agreed to work on a balanced youth experience scheme, making it easier for young people from both regions to participate in work, studies, au-pairing, volunteering, and travel.

NATIONAL EURODESK HIGHLIGHT

 

AfriConEU: Bridging Continents, Empowering Youth 

 

The AfriConEU project, a Transcontinental Networking Academy for African and European Digital Innovation Hubs, has been recognised by the European Commission for its outstanding work. It's now a Research & Innovation (R&I) Knowledge Valorisation Best Practice, marking its third major accolade. AfriConEU also received the 2023 .eu Web Award and the 2024 "Top EU-AU Research & Innovation Cooperation Success Stories" Award. These honors highlight its significant role in connecting research with practical application and strengthening EU-Africa collaboration.

Youthmakers Hub, a Eurodesk Greek Multiplier, played a key role in the project's success. AfriConEU is a powerful example of how collaboration drives social change, empowering young people across both continents with essential tools, knowledge, and networks.
